LOCAL HIKES


Cohotate Preserve, Hike through a mature forest as the trail leads you steeply downhill to the river. A large flat clearing by the river is perfect for picnics! Also the site of an environmental field station. 450 Route 385, Athens. 

Four Mile Point Preserve, The official hike is a short, kid-friendly walk near the river. A longer walk continues on along 4 Mile Point Road (watch out for the occasional car!) as it winds beside the river and through Vosburg Swamp, a protected wildlife management area. 169 Four-Mile Point Rd, Coxsackie.
Hannacroix Creek PreserveFeaturing 4 main trails taking you along the creek and through native woodlands. Irving Trail takes you down to the New Baltimore swimming hole. Be careful as the rocks around the falls are slippery! 
Rt. 144 north of New Baltimore.
Kaaterskill Falls via Kaaterskill Rail Trail, Check out NY State's tallest two-tiered waterfall at the end of a 1.5 mi hike through mature woods. The hike along the rail trail takes you past several overlooks for viewing the Falls. Parking is at the Mountain Top Historical Society building in Haines Falls where you will find the trailhead. 5132 Rt. 23A Haines Falls, NY 12436.

Mawignack Preserve, A gorgeous walk through mature woodlands and open wildflower fields take you down to the peaceful Catskill Creek. Perfect place for a picnic and birdwatching! 52 Snake Road, Catskill.
RamsHorn-Livingston Sanctuary2 miles of trails follow an old farm road past a 28-foot observation tower, then narrow as they meander through forests and skirt RamsHorn Marsh. 84 Dubois Rd., Catskill.

Willows at Brandow Point, Hike through expansive wildflower fields and then down through forested land until you reach the river. 480 Rt. 385, Athens.

FARMS

Coxsackie Farmer's Market, Held at the end of Reed St. in Riverside Park every Wed. evening from 4-7pm during the warmer months (May-Oct). This Farmer's Market offers a great mix of produce from local farmers, food products, fresh bread, a food truck for picking up dinner, and live music. The Village's weekly social event! Riverside Park, Coxsackie.

Boehms Farm, Pick-your-own apple farm, pumpkins, pie, jams, etc. (seasonal hours - check website). 26 County Road, Climax.
Lime Kiln Farm, Gorgeous farm with cows and goats with a bakery on site making pies and cheesecakes. Pick up farm fresh meats as well! Schedule a visit. 523 Lime Kiln Rd., W. Coxsackie.

Samascott Orchards, A quick day-trip about 40 minutes away, this orchard produces some of the most mouth watering produce and fruit in the region and much of it is available in their U-Pick fields. A market stand close by is also well stocked if you don't want to do the picking. 5 Sunset Ave, Kinderhook.

Story Farms, Pick-your-own strawberries, seasonally, and a great farm stand for fresh produce. Seasonal hours during the winter. 4640 Rt. 32, Catskill.

EVENT / WEDDING VENUES

Basilica Hudson, A repurposed industrial factory located right on the River. Awesome music, markets, and events year round. 110 South Front Street, Hudson.

Gather Greene, 100+ acres of open field, woods, and a quarry pond with views of mountain ranges all around. 17 mini-cabins and a breathtaking 2-storey pavilion that must be seen to be believed! 176 Levett Road, Coxsackie.

Meadow Ridge Farm, Weddings and events in an original English-Dutch style dairy barn surrounded by 100+ acres of woods, fields, and river views. 2745 Route 385, Coxsackie. 

Owls Hoot Barn, Weddings, events, and weekend stays at a lovingly restored 1800s Dutch Barn complex. 386 Bronck Mill Road, West Coxsackie.

Windrift Hall, 19 green acres plus pond surround a 1800s Federal style manor house and pavilion which is host to weddings, events, yoga and wellness retreats. 256 Smith Road, West Coxsackie.
